some things to pay attention to when looking

for a great photographer:

Feel: Does the picture cause a reaction within you when you look at it? Do you smile when you see it? Does it provoke an emotion? - This is a great way of knowing whether a photographer has the touch that you may be looking for. If a picture of two strangers makes you feel warm inside, can you imagine what your own photographs will do to you? :).

Experience: An experienced photographer is aware of changing light in certain situations. It is important that the photographer has experience in your type of wedding. (religious, traditional, contemporary). It is important that there is a pre-wedding conversation about how skills can be tailored to your wedding day needs. An experienced photographer should discuss with you the arrangement of family shots.

It is always good to ask your photographer if they have a visual artist they love or prefer working with. This prevents them from getting in each other’s way and elevating the creative process.

Having prior experience working together will only better the your final results.

Look: Are the pictures timeless, or are they trendy? (i.e. over- effected). Are the pictures consistent? Are they too dark, too light, or too orange?

Do you see any blemishes, unattractive poses or angles, distracting backgrounds?
